About 4-H
4-H is the largest non-formal education program in the world. It provides youth with the life skills they need to be successful in life. These skills include leadership, citizenship, and communication. 4-H also allows for personal growth. The 4-H program is family oriented. Parents play an important role in the 4-H program serving as volunteer leaders. The 4-H program is open to everyone, regardless of where you live. 4-H members have the opportunity to select from a vast number of 4-H projects.

Join 4-H
4-H is open to youth ages 5 to 18. Regular 4-H members are ages 8 to 19. Members that are 5 to 7 participate in 4-H as a Cloverbud member. Cloverbud projects are geared toward their age. Colorado 4-H rules do not allow Cloverbuds to exhibit animals under 4-H.
4-H enrollment to be eligible to exhibit at the Cheyenne County Tumbleweed Fair is due the 1st of February. Enrollment is done through 4-H Online with certain paperwork that must be turned in.
Volunteer
Cheyenne County 4-H is always looking for volunteers. Those willing to help with the various projects are always needed. Volunteers can choose to serve in a variety of ways, including acting as a Project Leader having either multiple project workdays or one workday each year or as a Project Resource Leader that is willing to answer questions.
All 4-H volunteers in Colorado go through a mandatory volunteer screening process that includes registering through 4-H Online, reference checks, a background check, and mandatory orientation. If you are interested in signing up you can either fill out an application in 4-H Online or stop by the Extension Office.
